In Response To: Hrs. to Strip Build? (Craig Bumgarner)
It is a bug thing, you catch it and don't even know you have it. I built my first cedar strip canoe in 97, then a second cedar strip canoe in 98, then on to a s&g sailboat dingy plus sewed the sails in the den floor. Now I have a 85% finished 2nd sailboat (470 style) in the floor of my garage with a 18' Guillemot along side about 80% stripped. Would have been done with the stripping of the Yak if I could have ever settled on an accent design for the deck. I work about 10 or 15 hours a week and started on the Guillemot last month. I use staples and finish nails and bunches of clamps including the pvc types.
