Finally, after more than one year of building, I was able to launch my stip built kayak today. The launch took part in a mountain lake 975 meters above sea level (ie. more than 3000 ft. I believe) in southern Norway.
The first trip was a very pleasant experience. I felt that she tracked well, at the same time it was easy to turn her around with my Aleutian style paddle. Both the boat and the paddle was built according to plans from Laughing Loon. I hope to be able to post some pictures of her in a few days.
The boat's name is a hommage to Victoria Jason - the first woman to paddle through the Northwest Passage, who sadly passed away May 20th of this year.
