Hi Nick, You could do a little of both. My last two boats I stapled the hull and went no staple on the deck. When it's sitting on the beach the only thing most people see is the deck and I must say that I think I like the look of no staple better. For a first time builder going no staples can be a little difficult at times. Just Build it! either way they look great!! I looked at a couple hundred boats this weekend and never even paid any attention which boat had staples and which didn't.
