You could compromise, use staples on the hull which is where you really need them because of the twists the strips are required to perform, and go staplesless on the deck where the strips usually lay easier. Most of the beauty of the boat comes from the deck design anyways.

By then you will be a stripping expert and it might lead to less frustration than starting out going for the gold... IMHO
