I would be really nervous using carwash soap. I suspect that you may affect the adhesion caracteristics for the next coat.

: Mike, I use a hose constantly running on the boat while wet sanding. I wrap
: the paper around a foam block to make it easier to hold. After sanding, I
: wash with carwash soap and rinse throughly. I then blow off most of the
: water with a power leaf blower and finish drying with paper towels. This
