I agree. At least 3/4 particle would be better. The "knees", or clamps as I refer to them, worked well on all but the end forms. Just too much pressure there. It also needs modification to work well on the chines and gunwales. I didn't bother with it and just screwed them down >:-)

No real criteria. Just a piece of cardboard and "Hmmm. That looks good." They are longer than Putz suggests (by 7-8"), but will be trimmed off after placement of the gunwales. They will probably be similar in length to Mike's, which I believe are about 4" longer than Putz's.

This worked well in all cases except the end floors. Putz warns about these being the hardest. For those, I just winged it with cardboard first, then cut the wood. Some major compound cuts/double bevels there.
