I had sailed a windsurfer and helped on a hobie 18'. The caravelle is fairly simple except for the centerboard and box. I used 1/4" AC exterior ply, made my own sails for www.sailrite.com. It is a good beginners and family boat, handles rough water and wind up to 20 knots pretty well.
