: I just boat a 5 year old Necky Arluk II Kevlar and I love the upgrade from a
: poly. Here are my questions...

: It has some scratches on the top half that I would like to buff out. Is there
: a way to do that? Like car wax?

: How do you repair the bottom when there is a small spot the size of a dime
: where the paint was scratched off from a rock? Is it necessary?

: How about repainting the kayak, is that a good option for somebody with very
: little experience with kayak building?

: Thanks for your help.

First, I'll recomment the easiest route -- Home Depot sell gel coat repair kits that you can mix your color to match that on your boat. Just remember that gel coat has to cure without air contact, so cover the patch area with garbage bag to cure the gel coat.
If that fail then, you can paint over the entire boat. There are too many different paint types and brands to list. Just follow the recommand process for the paint of your choice. Remmenber to wear mast when sanding fibreglass.
Good luck.
