I believe he is using a long, low workbench (stronger than a strongback?) and shorter forms. As I recall he found the numbers I had posted for making forms that were 20 inches shorter than those in Putz's plans.

I had originally done the work with the intention of converting Putz's drawing methods to coordinate points that could be simply graphed or plotted directly on the plywood -- and also saving on buying wood -- but now that you mention the instability of the longer forms I can see yet another benefit to the shorter forms.
