: I agree with Jay, Hit the yellow pages for lumber yards in your area. Also
: try the wholesale suppliers, many will sell retail for speciality woods
: like redwood. All the local lumber yards draw from the wholesale
: suppliers. My local lumber yards can order redwood and have it in a few
: days and like Jay mentioned, it is mostly clear and available in long
: lengths so what you order will most likely be good.

I have tried the local guys. No luck at the best place around here for specialty wood - where I got my purpleheart and peruvian walnut....

What is the place out there? I would drive to Syracuse for redwood. a bit closer than CA although I will be in CA this winter for some powder therapy after a winter of stripping.
