a stupid idea - not really worth reading

Another idea is to use part of the cutout as a seat. Straightforward way would be to turn upside down, glass both sides well and cut out seat outline and hope the curve is comfortable or velcro some foam in and take out for show. And not that anyone has done it, but say you cut the 'seat' out carefully and then glued down the forward part of the 'pit cutout as sacrificial floorboards or localized hull stiffener. Might have to split it say along 2 lines to conform, but might be interesting. Would perform the same localized structural hull stiffening that many whitewater yaks have w/ their extended seat structure resolving to the hull.

The bozo idea is to try and keep the beautiful pattern you have. The upside down seat strips are opposite to your pattern but could it be turned inside out? Like say 4oz cloth was glued down on the upper side w/ flexible (5min?) epoxy. Assuming the strips were glued w/ watersoluble glue, throw in the bathtub for a week. Would the epoxy hold, the glue give and could you pop it backwards? What if used nylon instead of 4oz? Say you threw a sheet of plastic i/s the hull, some 1/2 in minicell, bunch of microballooned epoxy, then the new side down 'seat' or whole cover and threw in a couple of buckets of spidey's sand to weight down for setup and conformation.

Yah , totally unrealistic, but would be kinda interesting to see the pattern go thru both the deck and the seat and maybe a hull protector, when viewed from above.

I was in a rented looksha(IV?) a few weeks ago, and it had a rigid detachble seat back. Like maybe the very back part of the cutout could be mitred to the central seat cutout to make a back too. Very carfully done, the strip would be fairly continuous - but back maybe only 5 or 6 in high
