Can anyone reference a comparitive study on the relative resistance of graphit hull coatings versus normal varnish/paint/gelcoat? I understand that graphite feels slipperier when acting on another solid, but against a liquid... well, it seems like the two frictions aren't the same thing. I think the issue is more the behavior of the boundary layer, which depends primarily on surface topography, NOT the material. Anyway, any advice would be really helpful.
