I used it on some steel mast climbing steps on a boat I built. I used the spray galvanized over lightly sandblasted the 1/4" steel rod weldments and finished with silver Rustoleum out of a spray can. They held up fine in a warm salt water environment for about 10 years. They were removed by the new owner because they needed to be refinished (rusting) and I don't know what happened to them after that.
The product is basicly a zinc rich paint. I don't think it is equivelent to true hot dipped galvanizing. I liked it for my purpose because it was spray in a can. Otherwise, I would probably used one of the solvated epoxies normally used for coating steel.
