: A while back at the rendezvous, Ross Leidy lent me the form for his cradles
: so I could make a set. After completing three boats I could not carry them
: all on my truck until now. I revised his design by adding a lap joint and
: a knob so I could turn the top part down to make it garage door friendly.
: I also added felt the the rear cradle, that way I can slide the boat on
: the truck just like in the Hydroglide Saddles by Thule. The front cradle
: has minicell foam padding. Thanks Ross, it all worked out great!!!

I like the felt idea.

I have been using mine for this season thus far with my Chessie 18.

I used 1/4" minicell for my padding though.

I need to make the ones for my SOs merganser 16 this winter.

Just spent this wkend ripping nice dark red cedar strips. also some pine.

its about time to get the strongback built. maybe next paycheck.
