DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!! CWF is great stuff, but not on your boat. The oil based stuff is better than the water based. They are both excellent on bare wood the rougher the better. The point is to get the best obsorbtion. On very smooth surfaces it just tends to run off. It also takes on a very nice golden color afther exposure to sunlight. Get a cheap garden sprayer and do your rough cut siding, cedar shingles, fence, or whatever but don't put it on your boat. One exception may be oiled canoe gunnles. Steve
