Commiserations. I guess it's not a hobby without a few setbacks though.
I think the copper tubing idea is really cool. For a little canoe I made - I tried to make a wooden tube - but decided it was getting to be too much work and ended up using schedule 40 PVC - which worked great - but isn't nearly as cool as copper.
I'm sure she will heal up just fine for you whichever treatment you decide on. I think the copper tubing will be more fun than messing with that nasty epoxy.
