I can only speak for the standard Chesapeake 17...I'm 6'1", 180 and have found that for day cruising, I would prefer something with a bit less volume. I can't say enough good things about the design and performance of the boat and for camping, it is awesome. It's just that for exercise type cruising, the volume of the cockpit is a bit generous for my taste.
