: Lee: Will your description essentially give me a 17LT but with a normal
: Chesapeake radiused deck?

: Lets say I don't care too much about deck radius (except for the practical
: amount of leg room and toe room)since I'm gonna be building temporary
: forms so that I can strip it out with pine anyways......

Gonna strip the deck, eh? Sounds great! Spruce might be lighter than pine, if you can get it--you might also get more color continuity with the spruce. Ever think about making a rounded sheer out of strips? Place the sheer line much lower on the side panel (say 2-3") and then place your temporary forms/deckbeams up above the side panels, with a 3" or so radius on their outer ends. Tack them in place with finish nails, drywall screws, or hot glue, and strip away. Seam the boat like any stripper (sans sheer clamp).

While you will lose a little bit of toe room with the rounded sheer, you will also gain a little with the absence of the sheer clamp.

: and will be
: altering bunkhead placement, use of deck beam, etc anyways. He would
: probably want to wear Teva sandals anyways since he isn't quite hard care
: enough yet atleast to get neo booties.

Actually, my old neo booties are smaller than my Tevas...but maybe he will want to be hard core someday? :)
