There was a time when I thought installing bulkheads after putting the deck on would be a nightmare. I did it on my Guillemot and it wasn't too bad. Keep in mind that you might need and additional deckbeam or two to help curve the deck since you won't have two bulkheads to serve that purpose.

Sam, did you build plywood or fiberglass hatch lips?

: I put flush hatches with internal bungee hold-downs on a CH 16LT. No problems
: with leaking. If you postpone bulkhead installation until after your hatch
: lips are in, you could do them in one piece. Bigger openings will also
: make clamping the lips easier.
