: Hi,
: I'm sure this is a really dumb question but I need to get it out of my
: thinking. 1/8" Luaun Plywood isn't used for stripping because when
: sanding the haul, you would sand into the next layer of lamination on the
: joints and probably sand right through the wood, right?

Hi John

Well, it could be done, BUT, You have to minimalize your glue application, wipe off any eccess immediately, and when sanding also minimalize as much as possible. Just remember that if you make one little mistake ( the slightest over sand ) anywhere on the boat, it is all for not, and will have to be patched or painted. Not worth the effort it would take to get it right. Power sanders would almost be useless, as you would find them hard to control and tooo easy to round off edges and right through the outer veneer at the joints. When you use wood strips, and mess up, and we all mess up, you have wood under it to work with and correct things. I would not recommend it. But then, you knew that. Hope that helps.
