I glued the frames onto my flush hatches for my CH17 last night, but when I tied them this morning the forward hatch didn't fit. The curvature seems off and it is also twisted.
I thought I would have avoided both of these problems since I traced the curvature of the deck onto some cardboard and used this as a template to cut the curvature of the hatch frames. To prevent the hatch from twisting I used the concave pieces that the hatch frames were cut from to make a cradle in which I placed the hatch cover with a heavy weight on top while it cured. This worked for the rear hatch cover, but not for the forward hatch cover which has more of a curve.
I managed to cut off the frames and salvage the plywood cut-out, but I am not sure what to do differently next time. Help.
