I just moved back to Ohio. As I was standing in line at the DMV to register the canoe (which put me in a bad frame of mind to begin with) the guy next to me said a friend of his went fishing in the Maumee river in a two man rubber raft he got from a cigarette promotion. He was ticketed for lack of registration. The teller confirmed this; if you climb into any floating contraption in public waters, it needs a current sticker and "OH" number on the side.

I moved her from Canada, the home of the nanny state, and didn't numbers on anything without a motor.

I think I'll find where to file a protest, if only to make myself feel better
