I too currently have an A.T., while it is a great boat you're right it does have some issues with the wind. I was lucky enough to try both the Coho and the Osprey at the R2K this year, back to back. My preference between the two is the Coho, since it does track well, seems to take less effort than my AT and still turns a little easier than the Opsrey. If wind is frequently a problem and you spend more of your time getting somewhere over long distances than playing around or siting critters near shore you will find definite advantages in either of these multi chined hulls.. The opinions about building light are to be paid attention to. With the Coho longer than the AT or the O it will definitely pay off to keep the weight down. Keep in mind though that a loaded kayak is going be heavy anyway and the extra volume inside the Coho will let you bring more of your favorite stuff on trips.
