: I'm looking at my plans for a WeeLassie II and wondering what is the best way
: to transfer them to wood. That is, to copy them to the stations. I used
: very light paper to trace the bow station and I know I'm getting a little
: "play". I used a square to keep things, well square. Then I
: glued the tracing to poster board. I used the factory corners and a
: square. Is this good enought? I know there is some variance in it. Am I
: being to anal? This ain't rocket science. But each tranfer there is bound
: to be some "play". Will this add up in the end?
: Thanks,
: Todd
The Wee Lassie & Wee Lassie plans only provide half the form. Bummer of it all is that half the forms are the left side and half the forms are the right side of the single sheet Mac sends. Guess this is why Mac McCarthy only charges 20 or 25 dollars for his plans instead of $80, but it is a bit of a hassle.
I went down to my local super copy center (where they have a megga large photocopier) and made 2 copies of the forms sheet. Don't freak out! They are not available on ebay
At home I taped the sheets together back-to-back and taped them to a window. Next, I traced all the mirror image lines onto the outside sheet thus giving me complete forms on the outer copy. Hope this makes sense. Its easier to just show how to do it.
To transfer the lines onto the particle board, I used cabon paper. Its available at woodworking stores. You can use the same carbon sheet many times.
This system worked for me
Roger
PS I'd love to see Mac include the entire form on his plans in the future. To me its worth a few more dollars which I ended up spending anyway
