Well, I finally got curious enough and found time enough to go throug the hole discussion on Nick's book, and ironically enough, the book couldn't get any better recommendations than George's comments, whether they are a result of jealusy, bad manners or ,as Mark Kanzler says, maybe he just enjoys stirring the pot a bit, or keeping people on their toes and discussing ideas.
Whatever, I can't wait to get a copy of the book. Any book that can stirr up anyone like this, must be worth reading. (I hope our norwegian importer gets it in his stock soon).
As for the discussion itself, I guess I tend to agree with those who thinks that this discussion is off the trace, and that the kind of personal and maybe unreasonable criticism we've seen here belong elsewhere.
But as I also learned from this board, one can ignore what one doesn't like. (I guess I have Mark to thank for that, no hard feelings.) In the world of "freedom of speech", the best medicine towards comments we don't like, is silence. If we don't like what we read, just don't give the author any response, pro or con. Eventually he will, in most cases, shut up.
So let's turn our "filters" on an get going (again) with the boat-building.
