Prices will vary according to your location, the market, and the grade of each board. Clear wood is very expensive. I have no idea wat grade these boards are, but the prices seem typical. I think the ballpark estimate for wood is about 45 board feet. Roughly, that would be a bit over 90 feet of 1x6s. with the prices you are mwntioning, that is about $63 for all cedar or $45 for all spruce. If you some of each you could probably get you lumber costs around $55 to $60, which is no steal, but certainly a fair and reasonable price.

The advantage of shopping locally is that you can buy a couple of boards today, and go back tomorrow for a few more, so if you are on a budget, you can get enough wood for the hull, and then go back for wood for the deck when funds are available.

If you want to make your wood (and your money) go a bit further consider making your strips closer to 3/16 thick instead of 1/4 inch, and use a thin sawblade.
