No, we don't drive a Lexus to the launch sites, however, I'm sure it would be nice.
I'm sad to admit that I've only used the coastal for the San Pedro/Catalina crossing. The last Channel Islands crossings I did was done in plastic because of the rocky landings of some of the islands. Duane (aka Mr. Plastic) used fiberglass. Also, the coastal is fairly low volume for a 8 day paddling trip.
The fore arm is back 100%. All pain was gone within a week due to icing EVERY night for about 1 hour. Its great! It would be nice to complete the intended trip to Santa Barbara Island (37NM crossing) in the Coastal, but haven't committed to doing it yet.
