Jon, it would be much more efficient to temporarily hold the panels together with unthickened (or very slightly thickened with cabosil) epoxy applied with a syrynge , remove the wires,sand as needed then glass. The epoxy would flow into the joint by capillary action. Keep it simple, neat.
