I use 6oz tape on the inside, but for the outside I cut my own bias strips from regular cloth - no selvaged edge, no puckers, and it seems to wet-out better too. In my mind it's stronger as well - all strands of glass cross the deck/hull transition (rather than just half when using non-bias tape).

: Thanks for the info. I am ordering 6 oz tape. The selvage edge I will remove
: after the epoxy has cured to a leather consistency (got a trick for that).
: How much of a bump do you notice once the edge has been removed? Is it
: worth buying a 3.8 oz tape with no selvage edge? I'm just unsure how
: difficult it will be to wet out (no selvage could mean a mess).
