Hi Rehd.

Please don't put foam over your really cool wooden frame. It just wouldn't be right. For less than you will spend on foam you can by REALLY GOOD float bags from Mariner (www.marinerkayaks.com -> Price List -> Stern Float Bag - I bought a bow and a stern and wish I had bought two stern bags because they are bigger)- and the money will be going to good people. Matt and Cam are the best.

I think these would be easy to make once you figured out how to make the urethane coated cloth or found a supplier and figured out how to do the seams.

Hope your project is going well. Building a wooden kayak frame is the funnest project I have done to date. Paddling the result is a blast too.
