In Response To: Hollow mast to Loom (David Hanson)
I've got three paddle shafts on euro-style paddles with this design. All are oval rather than round, and two are actually feathered 70*. Strips are 1/4" x 3/8" and 1/4" x 5/8".
I plan to do some Greenland paddles with this shaft (loom) design this winter.
It's a great way to make a light, stiff shaft.

: Has anyone built a paddle loom along this design? I dug this up from when I
: was toying with the idea of building a wooden mast for one of my
: sailboats.
