Hello Larry,

I read the responses you got & I would like to add alittle thing.

I think you need to tape the crack on its other side too.
I'm not sure if the 3 layers you already put are on the top or bottom
of you deck.

I recommend 1-2 layers on the other side. It will not affect the strength
of the boat, it will just make the deck stronger for direct pressure on the crack, for example, when the kayak lies up side down on the grass/sand etc'.
It might be lying on that crack.

as for beauty, I don't really care how my boat looks, I rather spend time
putting NMileage on it than grooming it.

build less, paddle more.
