Hi Mike,
I checked your list of changes to that Walrus-like kayak of yours 8-P .
I have few questions.
you mentioned you lengthened it by 8" & narrowed it by 2".
my questions are:
1. how did you get to these dimensions ?
2. I mean, how did you know the ratio between narrowing & lengthening it ?
3. did you made any calculations ? (how, which)
4. or did you go by feeling ?
I have a thought of doing something similar.
most of our kayaks are designed for a paddler weighing so & so,
& gear weighing some more. My thought is to narrow the kayak to get the speed
(& tippiness), but not to lengthen it, so I wont get so much capacity
that I don't intend to use anyway.
any info appreciated.

: Well, I launched the new modified Walrus today as planned. I noticed right
: away that is was very tippy getting in and the smaller cockpit also make
: entry more difficult. When I left the dock, It immediately became clear
: that at least one of the objectives was accomplished. It was VERY quick.
: It accelerated easily to a very fast pace. With my 3.25” wide Aluet paddle
