Hello Jerry,
As I told you at R2K after having seen your GA, you're ahead of schedule with your craftsmanship - or in other words, "You've Arrived"!
Actually, these kayaks (16'0" Spring Runs) are a year+/- old - this photo was taken in their owner's garage.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), I don't get to keep any of the kayaks that I build other than those "old timers" that I had with me at R2K - and they are serial #'s 1 of their respective models - I guess I hold onto them out of sentiment more than anything else.
Each kayak that I have built since the # 1's seems to evolve - I make what I feel to be improvements, albeit small and subtle, over the previous kayak. This evolution over time, and playing with new ideas makes the whole business as enjoyable as it is. If I had to crank out the same thing day after day, I would quickly become bored and move on.
Anyway, I am looking forward to your next masterpiece!
Joe
