Hey Spidey,

It looks like your "seat pan" is a bit too short. (front to back) What I mean by this is that it doesn't look like it will provide enough support under your thighs--the front edge also looks a bit "sharp" which could cut off circulation where your thigh transitions from seat support to free floating. Then again, it might just be the angle from which the photo was taken. If you're going to fabric cover it, it wouldn't be hard to camouflage the foam joint.

As far as fabric covering, I was able to use some 6 oz. muslin (looks like thin canvas) in the layup for my glass seat. I only had to cut two 4" long darts to make a flat sheet cover the very curved glass form. Fabrics "move" just like glass does to conform to a contoured surface. If you're using a woven fabric, wet it down well (maybe use some Downey as well) and smooth it to fit your surface. Let it dry overnight, and then glue the dry fabric to the dry seat. Knit fabrics like lycra should have no problem conforming to the seat.
