: I experimented with a Lycra fabric ala Tim, and it was my final choice. It
: stretched and conformed to to the contours perfectly, and looks pretty
: slick. It only took about 20 minutes to install. The photo below doesn't
: quite do justice to the color and texture of the fabric (it's pretty
: smooth), but it gives an idea how it looks against red cedar.

Boy, your seat looks really great and I am keeping that in mind when I get to that point. A thought run through my mind for making a perfect fit from A$$ to foam. Set on some damp sand and squish and wiggle down in. Lay thin plastic over it an pour in plaster. Rough carve the foam and then blue chock the plaster cast and touch it against the roughed out foam and keep sanding the high spots until you get a perfect mate. Just don't gain any weight.
