: Hi everyone,

Nice to hear it takes someone else as long as me to fit a strip! I was looking through the archives and some people say they can bevel a strip in a couple of minutes.Anyway, I'm currently building a Guillemot(my first kayak building project) and if it is a strip with a lot of twist or bend in it I leave it clamped fo 3 hrs. I also steam the strip to take some of the stress out of it.
I made some test strips which I glued together then broke apart at set intervals of time to see how strong the glue had set. The glue was stronger than the wood at 1.5 hrs.You might want to try this with your glue.
