: Hi everyone,
: I am just installing the third strip from the shear and so far things are
: going ok. Nevertheless I see some difficulties when I get into strips with
: more twist. I am using 7/16 wide hand beveled strips.
I steamed my 1 1/2" wide accent strips with a wet rag and a household iron. Once the wood cools from the steaming, there is less pressure on the glue line and you won't have to clamp it as long.
I think Spidey steamed a lot of the strips on the ends of his Georgian Bay.
How long before epoxying as in how long before fiberglassing? The moisture you introduce into the wood should be gone in a day or two. The wood should be dry enough for gluing an hour or so after steaming.
: What is the proper way of steaming a strip? When can you glue it and how long
: should you wait before epoxying?
: Andreas
