: well, it depends who you ask,

: I have a coho, & to my opinion it's a giant ! a monster ! well, nothing
: personal against the coho. after building it I think any kayak with these
: sizes
: 17'6" x 23+ is a giant. the west r 180 has similar sizes.

: after building the coho (my 1st boat) I would go for the osprey std.

: just my preferences after I learned what I did.

: My coho is now a take-a-part, so it weighs a ton, so perhaps I do have
: use for all that volume, but as I said - osprey std.

: the coho is the only kayak I have, so i can't compare it's behavior to any
: other wooden kayak.

: I have some experience with plastics & I would say the coho's
: primary/secondary stability is much more like the "capella" (by
: p&h) than the "looksha" (necky) .

: all the manufacturers (wood plastic & glass) say their boats are
: "wonderful, they tracks well & turns easily when leaned", so
: I just ignore it.

: good luck.

: hey, is that going to be your 1st boat ?

: Erez

Thanks for the input Erez. No it is not my first boat. I built a Chesapeake 17, which is a hard chine boat. Unfortuately I am not familiar with the boats you mentioned. Thanks again.
