In a previous thread, someone (maybe Shawn) was looking for valves to use in making float bags. I have been thinking of making some myself but wonder how reliable I could make them (float bags). My idea is to not make them water proof. I have the use of a commercial sewing machine and lots of marine material to sew the bags from. I intend to make them exact fit for bow and stern and fill them with bubble wrap, the stuff they ship delicate instruments in. I tried some wraped around a brick; submerged in a bucket of water for a week and all the air chambers were leak free.
Anyone see any problems with my idea?
