: I use the floppy pvc fabric 'tubing'(actually is flat).
: Very compact, rolls up to store, and if you cut a slice in the near end of
: the 'tube', you can steam selectively along the length.
: Altho I haven't tried clamping it, you could almost(like 1/8in error) steam
: into place.(probably go easy on the clamping as I bet the pvc would get
: wrecked a bit)

Hi Mick, steaming selectively is a new idea to me.
I think I have some 3 inch floppy irrigation discharge hose that is PVC coated. The steamer I made yesterday worked OK but the 1" PVC pipe now looks like a snake. I didn't know it would soften like it did. I bought one of the modern type steamers that whistles when its steaming, and pulled the 1 1/2" stubby spout out of the top. Then I press fit a 1" PVC elbo into that space and then just slipped the 10' long pipe into it, put my strip in, wrapped a towel over the end and started steaming in the kitchen. Good thing the wife was away. I will have to setup in the garrage. But I think I have a problem bigger then steaming to take care of, at the bottom of the stern. I made my kayak with the BearBack design program and perhaps something isn't right. I may have to do some redesigning as I go along. What I may do is just post a picture here and let everyone look at it for you opinions.
