I've never built one of Nick's boats, but would say the Putz would take much less time. That said, building a framer over a set of strip forms is not exactly the Putz method/design. I believe this idea has been thrown around here before and does sound interesting. As a test platform, a canvas version might be good, but I don't think you'll necessarily be guaranteed the same performance when it's transferred to wood.
The Redfish is a Return and is waiting for warmer weather. I'm currently spending the time dreaming up a seemingly endless line of deck designs!
