I used the RAKA epoxy with 606 and 610 hardeners on the plywood Walrus. I think there was mild blush, but it did not cause any problems. I believe that as long as you recoat within 72 hours blush should not be an issue. If you wait longer than 72 hours between coats you have to sand, but I would also wash it to remove any blush.

No matter what is always a good idea to wash the kayak before varnishing, even if you are using a non-blushing epoxy/hardener combo.

I had problems varnishing my first kayak due to System Three blushing. I sanded the kayak before varnishing, but didn't wash it. The varnish stayed tacky for more than a week, and took on the appearance of alligator skin. I removed it, resanded the kayak, washed it, then wiped it down with fiberglass wash. After that the varnish went on great.
