Here is a photo of the foot braces yet to be installed in a boat. they glue to the bottom of the cockpit (inside the keel) Your foot rests on the paddle shaped parts and it is adjusted with a rope hooked into one of several notches in the rail.

: NIck has a design in his book and his brother (shearwater designs) sells them
