I often use the blue painter's masking tape for holding strips in place. Make sure it wraps around the strip far enough to extend onto the already glued strips on both the interior and exterior. Pull it very tight so it stretches a bit before sealing it down. You will soon learn how much you can pull it before it breaks. You can put tension to pull the strip either toward or away from the forms depending on which side you start the tape from. Sometimes you have put tape from both sides to balance out the tension. If you are taping over a cove edge, place a short length of 1/4" dowel in the cove before taping to protect the edge. Careful removal minimizes tearout on the strip edges.
