Vacuum might be a good trick. It is really hard to wetout, at least with system 3 at 65 degrees. It will not hold still so you can not move the epoxy until it soaks in, must pour it on, then it still trys to move around when you lightly squeezie. Then no matter how much you squeezie later you still have bunches of runs on the 6oz down to the shear. Lots of sanding now, I thought it was hard sanding before on the wood!
That bias stuff is supper strong and stiff, used it on a dagger board once it made a real weak board into a working product for my sail boat, very stiff. However it added nearly .100 thousands to each side. I used an inside stem of fir so pretty strong already, wanted the abrasion toughness. You will be able to see it though, no hiding that stuff.
