Yes peanut butter is about right, remember when it cooks off it will thin slightly. It should sorta scrape off when you fair it with the popsicle stick not goosh out from behind. Like Nick says, if you glass it right after then it is a moot point on getting it perfect, the glass will tend to give it support.
I had some mix left over on my last crack and hole filling job so started on the fillet to use it up knowing I wasn't planning on glassing for a while, should have waited till glass time then the fillet would not have been so critical.
