On the Outer Island, there's some strips that run from the deck to the low back deck that are stubborn to say the least. One trick I used is to wet the area of the strip with hot water and then wrap it in a towel and pour boiling hot water saturatingthe towel. In about 15 minutes that area of the strip is like rubber. You have to move fast - just like steaming, it starts to stiffen up as soon as it gets cooler. Doing it this way avoids memory rather than forcing it with clamps etc. which I have also done.
