Hey, I fell asleep during that part too. I darn near flunked woodshop. But, Kennedy was killed during our boringest part of class and that just totalled everyone and the teachers just gave everyone passing grades.
I learned by frustration with my saw, and having paid a lot of money, at the time, so had to figure it all out myself. I bought a floor model that everyone and their kids had played with and it was a disaster. Took me hours upon hours to figure things out, but, it is still going and working well.
