Hi Ben,
That is about what I did on my last stripper. I drilled 1/4" holes at registration marks 3" out from centerline. I did the initial alignment with strings stretched through these. I then fine-tuned the forms by shining a laser pointer through the holes. Was quick and easy, and i could recheck alignment throughout the stripping process to see if anything had moved.
